Our clients in Iraq 

cHc provides language services to important clients such as the World Bank, UNDP, UNAMI, UNHABITAT, GIZ, CNN Academy, International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, forumZFD, KRG Council of Ministers, KRI Parliament, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Justice, KRI High Council for Women and Development, Kurdistan University-Hawler, and many other international and local organizations. We also serve our clients internationally, for example in May 2024 we managed a workshop in Istanbul for the World Bank on Reforming Iraqi Pension Law. And in 2022 we provided language services on two different occasions to UNODC in Vianna and Paris on Drafting Migrant Smuggling Laws in Iraq and KRI. Below is a non-exhaustive list of our major clients.

cHc currently provides interpretation, translation and conference management services to the World bank in relation to various ongoing projects including, Service Delivery Indicators (SDI); Mashreq Gender Facility (MGF); Iraq Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS); Cash Transfer Program (CTP); Business Ready (replacing Doing Business); Women, Business and the Law (WBL); Gender Responsive Public Procurement in KRI; Iraqi Pension Reform and Social Fund for Development (SFD). cHc managing director, Bakhtyar Karim, has been providing interpretation and translation services for most of the World Bank projects in the KRI and Iraq since 2008.

cHc signed an LTA with GIZ in 2024. We started to provide satisfactory translation, interpretation and event management services to the GIZ’s various projects such as: Employment Prospects for Socioeconomic Integration (EPSI); Financial Inclusion (FI); Promoting fair labor migration and reintegration after return (ZME) and Strengthening Public Finances and Financial Markets (FFM). We provide translation and interpretation to the Employment Prospects for Socioeconomic Integration (EPSI) project, mostly related to development of the KRI social security system and job creation through developing the skills of the KRI labor force.

Ministry of Planning (MoP)

Our company proudly accommodates all event management, translation and interpretation needs of the Ministry of Planning. Our legal translators and interpreters provide highly professional and satisfactory services in order to sustain this long-term partnership.

High Council for Women and Development (HCWD)

cHc provides all the translation, interpretation, and conference management needs of The KRI High Council for Women and Development (HCWD), which is the leading KRI institution working on women and development issues, with special focus on economic empowerment of women, Strengthening women-led SMSEs and legal reforms.

Office of the Coordinator for International Advocacy (OCIA)

As of the beginning of 2023, cHc reached an agreement to provide ongoing conference management, interpretation, translation, proofreading and editing services to the KRI’s Office of the Coordinator of International Advocacy (OCIA). We satisfactorily managed the Kurdish-English translation of their annual review and assessment of the KRI Human Rights Plan and helped in smooth completion of an international conference on Combating Drug in Iraq.

In May 2023 our company signed the Frame Agreement (FA/UNHCR/MENA/2023/050) with the UNHCR to provide translation and proofreading/editing in Kurdish-English-Kurdish and Kurdish-Arabic-Kurdish. We are currently translating UNHCR’s website contents and accommodate the UNHCR needs for interpretation equipment and interpreters for their various workshops and conferences.

CNN Academy has also been among our long-term clients since 2021. cHc team provides translation and interpretation to CNN Academy’s 12 weeks virtual as well as field Media training targeting Kurdish and Arabic speaking journalists. The ongoing training runs twice a year with virtual and onsite components.

In 2024 our company won a contract with the US Embassy in Iraq to provide ongoing translation and interpretation following the long freelance service provided by Bakhtyar Karim, for the last eight years through the USA Consulate General in Erbil. The new contract involves virtual and onsite interpretation as well as English-Kurdish translation of the following USA Department of State’s annual Report: “Human Rights Report – Iraq Section”; “Trafficking In Person – Iraq Section” and “Religious Freedom – Iraq Section”.

UKH is a leading university in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. We happily serve the UKH in their various academic and community engagement initiatives.

Our lead translator, Bakhtyar Karim, is also subcontracted as a translator by the UNDP to carry out all translations and interpretations related to the KRG Fund Facility for Economic Reform (KRG-FFER), covering topics such as capacity building, job creation in agriculture and tourism sectors, development of MSMEs, social safety nets and social security.
